W. Phillip Marcum

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer

W. Phillip (Phil) Marcum is an energy industry executive with nearly 40 years of comprehensive senior level management and corporate governance experience. Mr. Marcum became Recovery Energy’s Chairman of the Board and CEO in November of 2012, after previously serving as the Company’s Lead Director; he joined its Board of Directors in September of 2011. Mr. Marcum co-founded Metretek Technologies, Inc. in 1991, which later became PowerSecure International, Inc. (NASDAQ:POWR), and served as its Chairman, President and CEO until 2007. His career includes serving as head of Energy Corporate Finance of Denver-based Boettcher & Company/Kemper Insurance Co. from 1987 through 1991, and serving as a senior officer, including Chairman, President and CEO, of Midland, Texas-based MGF Oil Corporation from 1976 through 1987. Mr. Marcum currently serves on the Boards of Key Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE:KEG), and ADA-ES, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADES). He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1967.

A. Bradley Gabbard

President and Chief Financial Officer

A seasoned financial professional with 35 years’ broad experience in the energy sector, A.Bradley (Brad) Gabbard joined Recovery Energy in July 2011 as its Chief Financial Officer; he became a Director in August 2012, and was additionally appointed President in November 2012. Mr. Gabbard most recently served as CFO for Applied Natural Gas Fuels, Inc., and his career in traditional and non-traditional energy businesses includes co-founder, director, Executive Vice President and CFO of PowerSecure International, Inc. (formerly Metretek Technologies, Inc.) from 1991-2007. Mr. Gabbard currently serves on the Board of ADA-ES, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADES). Mr. Gabbard received a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1977, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Michael A. (Mick) Domenick

Senior Geologist

A broadly trained and experienced petroleum geologist with a career emphasis on domestic basin exploration, development geology and operations geology, Michael A. (Mick) Domenick’s specialties include structural geologic analysis and geo-steering operations to optimize resource plays. His experience extends across many areas with primary emphasis on Rocky Mountain basins and the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. He has had specific effort in the DJ Basin for the past five years. Mr. Domenick’s 30-year career includes geologic positions at Delta Petroleum, Ellora Energy and Stephens Energy. He received a Master of Science in Geology in 1981 and a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Biology in 1979 from the University of Rochester in New York. Mr. Domenick’s graduate studies spanned five years in Petroleum Geology/Basin Analysis at the University of Colorado and five years in Hydrogeology at the Colorado School of Mines.

Eric Ulwelling

Controller & Principal Accounting Officer

Eric Ulwelling is a Certified Public Accountant who joined Recovery Energy in 2012. His nine-year career has included serving as a Controller with Applied Natural Gas Fuels, Inc. from 2010-2011. He worked seven years as an auditor with two large Los Angeles-based accounting firms, Singer Lewak and Pannell Kerr Forster, servicing publicly traded companies. Mr. Ulwelling received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from California State University of Fullerton, in 2002.
